Artist’s statement

My initial work aims to metaphorically describe the emotional states that the body manifests. The work has to do with the mourning that is established in the affective bonds of my environment; Within this conflict, I use the representation of the body as the boundary between the inner and outer world.

In recent years, I have focused on the structure of the human body, not on representing its idealisation, but on the search for beauty around the transgressed matter: the flesh. The research of my projects is focused on the physical and emotional disorder of the body. I am interested in reflecting on the consequences of a world where artificiality, human indifference and transgression of the organism are increasing day by day. I am currently developing a project that starts from a dialogue between my father’s progressive illness and the attempt to understand the disorder that accompanies Parkinson’s Disease.
